The Vulcan flies again – she’s up and flying

The restored Vulcan bomber has taken to air again, on a test flight from RAF Cottesmore.

The restored bomber from the cold war took to the air at 1.45pm to fly back to her home at Bruntingthorpe airfield just 30 miles away.

XH558 is the only flying example of the Vulcan bomber out of 137 that were built during the 1950s and onwards.

With around £2.7m from the Heritage Lottery Fund and individual donations from the 20,000 fans, the Vulcan certainly has the backing of a large group of people.  Even the media has followed the ongoing development as the plane seeks CAA certification.

By the time i’ve finished typing this the plane should be safely back at Bruntingthorpe.
