Why I dislike the EU!

This sounds very sad and typically English when I say I hate the EU.  (The European Union).

There are many reasons for this, but I will only list a couple for now.

Firstly, how can a central body, decide European wide regulations when clearly each country is different unique.  There is a time and place for standard regulation but these should be clearly ratified by each country in turn to ensure it is in the countries best interests to do so.

Secondly, if you refer to the stories on the Dakota DC3, this antique aircraft, is having to stop passenger circuits at airshows, due to the fact that EU law states that passenger aircraft must have inflatable ramps for passenger exits, low level lighting and oxygen masks.  This is actually a joke, as on a DC3 the door is only 4 foot above the ground and the plane can’t fly high enough to require oxygen.  Plus, would you really need this fitted on a 70 year old plane?

But because the policies are decided centrally and just rolled out, no consideration or thought has been included to place exemptions on classic aircraft or such.  We English have a passion for antique vehicles, but can you imagine the next law, steam trains are banned because they use coal, or classic sailboats are banned because they don’t have an engine.  Where will it end?  These are only two points that affect me.  Let me know what you are worried about affecting you.
