We have this to loook forward to soon

June 11, 2008

If the Vulcan passes its CAA certification, we can expect this sort of display from the Vulcan.

Remember though, she will only remain flying whilst  the TVOC receive donations and funding, so dig deep and experience the thrill of the only flying Vulcan, perform again.

There are two parts to this video, shot by avro698, and posted on Youtube.  The display was at Wroughton in 1992.

have fun

Good news at last for the Vulcan

June 10, 2008

Monday saw a proud day in the history of the Vulcan.

After 15 years of dedicated work, yesterday may have been one of the most important days since the decision was made to save XH558 in the first place.

monday saw the final flight test and the TVOC are on  the verge of being the proud operators of the worlds’ only flying Avro Vulcan.

The test flight was successful, although there were two small radio faults, but these do not require another flight to re-test.

Certification now needs to be completed and collated by Marshall Aerospace and presented along with the  1000s  of pieces of paper generated by the engineering team,  to the CAA for review and the granting of a Permit to Fly for the Vulcan.

No times have been published yet, but we are hoping to hear more in the next two weeks.

Keep up to date and donate money at WWW.TVOC.CO.UK

Bad weather pushes back final Vulcan test flights

June 5, 2008

There’s more bad news for the Vulcan.

The Vulcan XH558 has still not been able to fly and obtain her CAA certificate due to bad weather.

The Delta winged lady is still earthbound as the recent bad weather has caused her DA flights to be cancelled.  Without these flights and the associated certificates from the CAA, the Vulcan cannot fly and perform at airshows.

Obviously, this is a strain on the finances of the trust, who have in the past received lottery funding and personal contributions from over 20,000 private individuals.  The ideal situation would have been for Vulcan to attending the Biggin Hill airshow in June and receiving monies from the airshow and donations from the stand from fans, now with the plane having to cancel the show, this will affect the funds heavily.

So, it’s with a cap in hand, that, I ask personally, that people donate, just a little more.  No matter how small.  The Vulcan is so close to returning to the sky.   Let’s just give her that little boost so that hundreds of thousands can see her soar and roar.
